Our Community Salutes is a national, non-profit organization created to recognize and honor graduating high school students who plan to enlist in the armed services.


Want to support your community? We appreciate your desire to help as all of our events are made possible by volunteers like you. Individual, groups, organizations and businesses alike can volunteer to help. Want to act as a liaison with a service branch career recruiter? Help plan an event? Make a phone call to a potential sponsor? 2017 Recognition Ceremony

We held the fifth annual Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan Community Salutes Ceremony on April 13, 2017 at the Maumee High School Performing Arts Center here in Toledo, Ohio.We honored 240 individuals whom will be entering the military and an estimated 700 people attended the event. Military support expos were held prior to the ceremony featuring military support and veteran organizations.

Our guest speaker was Dr. Mike Bower, Army Veteran and President of Owens Community College.

Commemorative Challenge Coins were presented by veterans from the following organizations:

Teacher/Counselor Eagle Award: Andrew McGurk, St Ursula Academy
Mr. McGurk helped create the first annual salute to Female Veterans Ceremony.

Buckeye Broadband have helped to support numerous veteran and active duty fundraising events over the years.
