Social Media Director & Strategist

A Volunteer Position

Summary

We are looking for help developing and managing our social media strategy and execution of social media activities.  The social media director/strategist will develop and implement marketing strategies for OCS social media sites as they impact the various constituents in OCS Communities, including: high school seniors, parents, young adults, local business leaders, military recruiters, active duty service members, veterans, and national business partners.

We anticipate that you will need approximately five hours per week to provide oversight of a team of social media channel managers, or about 15 to 20 hours per month overall.

Work Performed

The social media manager shall be responsible for developing and implementing a cohesive social media strategy and go-to-market plan, which includes:

  • Brand development
  • Identifying target customers
  • Identifying goals and KPIs
  • Online presence/development and content strategy
  • Promotion strategy
  • Engagement strategy
  • Conversion strategy
  • Measuring and Analyzing ROI

Requested Tasks

  • Oversight of creation, curation, and updated published content.
  • Oversee design (ie: cover page, profile, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, and blog).
  • Work with OCS Communities to collect data, photos, video, event information, or other materials that further develops OCS social media channels.
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.
  • Develop and expand community outreach efforts.
  • Convert campaign qualitative data into plans for improving campaigns.

Requirements

  • Experience managing a small team of social media channel mangers (3 to 5 people)
  • Experience managing Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube social media accounts.
  • Ability to generate tracking and analysis reports.
  • Experience managing a advertising or individual giving campaign online
  • Any experience with advertising accounts such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, Twitter, etc.
  • Understand of bidding techniques (AutoBid, CPC, CPM, etc.).
