A United Mission: Our Community Salutes and the United States Army Warrant Officers Association Announce Partnership

A joint effort to recognize and support young Americans answering the call to serve

CHERRY HILL, NJ -- Our Community Salutes - USA (OCS) and the United States Army Warrant Officers Association (USAWOA) are pleased to announce a strategic partnership aimed at honoring and supporting the nation’s high school seniors who choose to enlist in the U.S. Armed Forces upon graduation.

“This partnership with the USAWOA comes at a critical time for our nation,” said Dr. Kenneth Hartman, OCS Founder and President. “The military is facing a substantial recruiting crisis, and we must do everything we can to honor the 1% of all young Americans who take a solemn oath to protect our liberties and freedoms. This needs to be a nation-wide effort, starting in local communities, and with partnerships like this,” states Hartman.

The collaboration between OCS and USAWOA underscores a joint commitment to recognize the courageous decision of these young adults who elect to serve and to provide them, and their families, with the support they deserve.

“USAWOA is honored to partner with OCS to celebrate our nation’s newest and youngest service members,” states USAWOA Executive Director Cara Rinkoff.  “Now more than ever, these new enlistees, and their parents, must know that their community and their country stands behind their noble decision to serve,” states Rinkoff.

As part of the partnership, USAWOA will join OCS in the annual OCS enlistee recognition ceremonies, which have been held across the country for the past 15 years. These ceremonies have seen over 250,000 high school enlistees and their families receive the recognition they rightfully deserve, while receiving much-needed transitional resources for new enlistees; 75% of whom will only serve for 48-months.

About the United States Army Warrant Officers Association

Founded in 1972, the USAWOA was incorporated as a not-for-profit association in Virginia on 7 November 1974. On June 23, 2021, the IRS notified the association that it was recognized under Section 501(c)(19), as a non-profit Veterans Service Organization (VSO), effective February 24, 2021.

The three words in the association’s logo predominantly define its mission of advocacy on behalf of the Warrant Officers in all three components of the Army: Professionalism, Representation, and Recognition.

The USAWOA’s philosophy has always been that recognition gained is directly proportional to value added. Every one of its members can be proud that they have impacted a remarkable evolution of Army Warrant Officers into the indispensable cohort of professional, technical, commissioned leaders that they are today. To this day, the USAWOA remains the only military service organization thoroughly devoted to the welfare of Army Warrant Officers –serving, former, and retired – and their families.
