Patrick Murphy gave a fatherly pep talk Tuesday night to newly signed military recruits mainly from high schools in Camden County, telling them they have more courage than he and most Americans.

“You are all joining after 9/11 and after our longest war in Iraq and Afghanistan. You have more courage than I do … and more courage than most Americans right off the bat,” Murphy, the acting U.S. Army Secretary, told seniors joining various military branches.

“Remember why you were called to do this. You joined our military because you wanted to give back,” he said, adding these words of caution: “If you do not stand for something, you can fall for anything.” Read more…
