Our Community Salutes of Central New York (OCSCNY) hosts an annual Recognition Event for Graduates

On May 21rst at 1:00 pm. Rear Admiral David J. Gale – Program Executive Officer, Ships gave the Oath of Enlistment at General Clinton Park, Bainbridge.

Our Community Salutes of Central New York (OCSCNY) hosts an annual Recognition Event for graduates who answer the call to serve in the United States Armed Forces. OCSCNY covers 71 school districts in 6 counties (Chenango, Delaware, Herkimer, Oneida, Otsego & Schoharie) covering 7,000 square miles.

San Angelo Salutes, Honors and Appreciates Our Military

This morning, several hundred people turned out to the San Angelo River Stage in celebration of San Angelo’s annual “Our Community Salutes: Goodfellow Appreciation Day 2016.”
Anetta Gray, spokesperson for the Chamber of Commerce, said, “We used to have the event out at the Goodfellow Recreation Camp, but an added bonus in having it here is the attendees will have access to our Fine Arts and Railway Museums, the Concho River, and the Love Pool facilities. Brookhaven Town Our Community Salutes Recognizes 19 Graduating High School Senior Enlistees

The “Our Community Salutes” Brookhaven Chapter held its second annual High School Enlistee Recognition Ceremony at Sunset Harbour on May 19, 2016. More than 230 people attended to be the first to say thank you to 19 graduating seniors from five Brookhaven Town high schools for the service that they are about to undertake. The high schools represented were William Floyd, Patchogue-Medford, Bellport, Center Moriches and Longwood.

Murphy: Soldiers must be ready to fight in a complex, volatile world

In one of his last acts as the acting Army secretary, Patrick Murphy on Tuesday swore in some of the Army’s newest recruits.

“We need to set the tone that every soldier is a soldier for life, and that means you’re a leader of character for a lifetime of service,” said Murphy, who on Wednesday resumed full-time his role as the service’s under secretary after serving as the acting secretary while Eric Fanning awaited Senate confirmation. Army chief praises local recruits

Patrick Murphy gave a fatherly pep talk Tuesday night to newly signed military recruits mainly from high schools in Camden County, telling them they have more courage than he and most Americans.

“You are all joining after 9/11 and after our longest war in Iraq and Afghanistan. You have more courage than I do … and more courage than most Americans right off the bat,” Murphy, the acting U.S. Army Secretary, told seniors joining various military branches.

Our Communities Salutes held in Voorhees for high school enlistees

A ceremony to honor military-bound high school seniors from Camden County took place at the Mansion in Voorhees on May 17th. Over 300 people attended the event, including the families of the enlistees, local celebrities, elected officials, area college presidents and school administrators, high school counselors, representatives from all Camden County veteran’s organizations, and high ranking military officers from all five branches.

Our Community Salutes-San Antonio honors Future Service Members

More than 700 future service members, their families, educators, business leaders, and the military gathered in the Rosenberg Sky Room at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) to participate in the 5th Annual “A Night in Your Honor” sponsored by Our Community Salutes-San Antonio (OCS).

More than 100 area students who are getting ready to wear their country’s uniform were thanked, in advance, for their service Monday night.

Our Community Salutes Honors Regional High School Graduate Enlistees at Military Recognition Ceremony

A large contingent of pop culture celebrates May 4 as “Star Wars Day,” an acknowledgement of the space opera’s omnipotence that, it’s safe to say, transcends the actual movies.

But in a portion of the galaxy not so far away, another type of recognition was taking place that day, one slightly more realistic, substantial and palpable to the more than 1,300 combined participants and guests in attendance at the Our Community Salutes of Northeast Ohio’s Military Enlisting Senior Recognition Ceremony.
