Joining Forces to Honor Service: Our Community Salutes and the Military Order of the World Wars Partner to Support Nation’s Newest Enlistees
An essential collaboration to support the military community
CHERRY HILL, NJ -- Our Community Salutes - USA (OCS) and the Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) have announced a new partnership to recognize and support high school seniors who have chosen to enlist in the U.S. Armed Forces following graduation.
“This partnership with MOWW reflects our shared belief that every young person who steps forward to serve their country deserves to be seen, celebrated, and supported,” said Dr. Kenneth Hartman, OCS Founder and President. “In a time when military recruitment remains an urgent national concern, we must uplift the 1% who answer the call to serve, and we must do it together, as a united community.”
Through this collaboration, OCS and MOWW will work hand-in-hand to elevate public recognition for new enlistees, support their families, and provide access to critical resources as these young adults begin their journey in uniform. This includes participation by MOWW chapters in local and national OCS Enlistee Recognition Ceremonies and support of OCS Connect, a digital platform offering educational and transitional tools for new service members and their families.
“Supporting those who serve is at the heart of our mission,” said Lt Col David J. Worley, USAF (Ret), MOWW’s Commander in Chief. “Through this partnership with Our Community Salutes, we are honored to help recognize young patriots as they embark on their path of service. Their commitment reflects the same sense of duty that MOWW was founded to uphold, and we are proud to walk beside them as they step into this noble calling.”
MOWW’s long-standing programs, including Youth Leadership Conferences, ROTC and JROTC awards, and Massing of Colors ceremonies, align closely with OCS’s mission to reconnect American communities with the military and create a culture of appreciation and service.
Together, OCS and MOWW aim to ensure that every enlistee feels the strength of a grateful nation behind them, from their first day in uniform and through their military and post-military journeys.

The Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) is a patriotic, nonpartisan, Veterans Service Organization (VSO) dedicated to promoting patriotism, civic responsibility, public service, and leadership in our nation’s communities. MOWW’s founding resulted from General of the Armies John J. Pershing’s request that his officers continue serving America after their active military service ended following World War I. Since MOWW’s establishment in 1919, MOWW Companions have lived by the Order’s motto, “It is nobler to serve than to be served.”
